Q1 lobbying expenses down; GR staffers busier than ever

While overall expenses decreased from last quarter, advocacy staffs stay absorbed in details of financial and health care overhaul For tax-exempt groups, lobbying-related expenses shrank in the first three months of the year, but many lobbyists say their workload is not contracting. Reported expenses by the more than 700 nonprofits, unions and associations tracked by CEO Update were down 18 percent from the fourth quarter and 10 percent from first quarter last year.
