Restaurant group hires COO, implements restructuring

The National Restaurant Association has promoted David Gilbert to the post of chief operating officer, as the trade group reorganizes its key lobbying and public policy staff and undergoes its first major restructuring effort in several years. In addition to COO duties, Gilbert will continue to lead NRA Solutions, where he was has been an executive vice president, overseeing products and services for the association, including the successful ServSafe certification program, which NRA consolidated under its umbrella last year after unifying the organization with is its Chicago-based education foundation.
