Salary Update: Revenue not big influencer on CEO pay in smaller groups

One of the strongest predictors of pay for an association CEO is the size of an organization: The larger the group, the bigger the paycheck. But new CEO Update data shows that as revenue dips below $4 million, its influence on compensation declines rapidly. At around $3 million, revenue has almost no influence on pay. In the data set analyzed, for CEOs leading groups with revenue between $1 million and $2 million, median pay is $203,04. That's only 0.6 percent less than the median for CEOs leading groups with revenue between $2 million and $3 million, suggesting a sort of median minimum wage for small associations.
