Second makeover may be the charm for cereals group

The former American Association of Cereal Chemists has broadened its membership reach to embrace a range of specialty interests Scores of associations are known only by their acronyms, choosing to hang on to the letters even as the original names pass into obsolescence. Think AARP, ASAE and IEEE to name a few. The newly dubbed Cereals & Grains Association went the other way, choosing a descriptive moniker over the initials the group had used for more than 100 years.
