Sierra Club eyes LEED certification

Environmental certification would be for indoor space of the nonprofits new three-floor D.C. home. Though the building housing the Sierra Clubs new D.C. office wont be formally certified under the U.S. Green Building Councils LEED certification program, officials with the organization say the building will meet requirements for a high level of certification and the indoor office space may yet be certified.The Sierra Club, Americas oldest environmental organization, will be consolidating two smaller offices into three floors of a new 11-story, 90,000-square-foot building north of Massachusetts Avenue near the Capitol, at 111 K St. NE.
