Surveys suggest decline in meeting attendance is ending

At the end of a difficult year for meeting attendance, associations may be finally turning the corner, according to findings in three recent surveys. But the studies also show an almost even divide on the question of whether attendance will increase in 2010, or stay relatively level. In one survey conducted by Association Meetings magazine and released Nov. 30, almost 39 percent of respondents said they expected attendance at their largest meeting in 2010 to be higher than in 2009.
