Old-line industries that are the backbone of U.S. ground transportation want decision makers to see them in a new light and are turning to ad campaigns to do the job. Steelmakers, railroads and trucking groups aim to emphasize that their industries are now high tech, environmentally conscious and economically essential. The American Iron and Steel Institute (AISI) launched its New Steel Campaign in 2006 to update what they sensed was an outdated perception of the industry.
