The Brewers Association has pushed back the date of its upcoming trade show from March to September and moved the event to Denver.
The Craft Brewers Conference & Brew Expo America was originally scheduled to take place in San Diego from March 29-April 1, according to an association statement. The event has been moved back to Sept. 9-12 because of the pandemic and will instead be held in the Colorado Convention Center.
"Shifting to September in Denver provides us with an opportunity to convene in person, making it possible to do what brewers do best—build community through sharing our expertise and passion, and learn from each other," BA CEO Bob Pease said.
BA is currently planning an in-person event but noted final confirmation remains dependent on health and safety protocols at the time of the conference. If an in-person event isn't possible because of COVID-19, the association will instead hold the event online.

The 2020 conference was canceled because of the pandemic. The 2019 event in Denver attracted more than 14,000 attendees and 1,000 exhibitors, according to BA.
"The past year has been tumultuous for the craft brewing community, as we've faced a number of challenges. But we are resilient," Pease said. "We know that maintaining craft beer's health and vitality for the future starts with CBC and the cultivation and education of our professionals. We hope to see everyone in Denver this fall."
