Commuters in the nation's capital will be greeted with images of a man in a ski mask working ominously on a computer as part of a new campaign by Finance Services Roundtable to get Congress to pass cyberthreat legislation.
FSR's "Stop Cyber Threat" campaign is designed to pressure lawmakers into quickly passing legislation allowing financial institutions and businesses to more easily share information with the federal government on potential threats.
The campaign includes billboards on Metro trains running to Capitol Hill and digital advertisements, according to FSR. It also includes the launch of the microsite www.stopcyberthreats.com.
"Cyber threat information sharing legislation is long overdue and Congress must continue to work together to get it over the finish line," FSR CEO Tim Pawlenty said.
To combat fears about privacy, FSR released an infographic stating, among other things, that the law would not be used to share personal information about customers with the government.
