Dawn Sweeney, who recently stepped down as CEO of the National Restaurant Association, will receive the Bryce Harlow Business-Government Relations Award in recognition of her advocacy career, the Bryce Harlow Foundation announced Tuesday.
Sweeney led the restaurant association for 12 years before retiring at the end of 2019. The award recognizes leaders in government advocacy who have led exemplary careers in the profession.
"Dawn has a long history of supporting businesses through best-in-class advocacy and serving with high integrity," said Katherine Luger, board chair of the foundation and CEO of the American Beverage Association.
Sweeney will be given the award during the foundation's Annual Awards Dinner on April 29 in Washington, D.C. The foundation will also present Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa) with the Bryce Harlow Award, which is given to an elected official whose career is built on championing the principles of integrity, dedication and professionalism, according to the group.
