CEO DATELINE - Multiple associations teaming up to tackle pandemic

More associations associations have announced new partnerships as part of industry-wide responses to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The most recent announcement came Wednesday with Business Roundtable and the National Association of Manufacturers saying they would work together to collect data on the amount of medical supplies available and identify where manufacturing could be put to use making more supplies. That information will be shared with the federal government.
"America's creators will respond to this challenge, just as we have throughout history," NAM CEO Jay Timmons said in a statement. "We are all in this together as we fight to keep our country healthy and strong."
Other collaborations:
—The National Grocers Association and United Fresh Produce Association announced March 26 that they plan to connect produce distributors with independent supermarkets to ensure shoppers have access to fresh fruits and vegetables in the coming months.
"The entire food industry has come together incredibly during the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak, ensuring that Americans across the country have access to affordable and nutritious food," NGA CEO Greg Ferrara said in a statement. "Our collaboration with United Fresh will improve upon what has already been accomplished, keeping independent grocers stocked with fresh produce."
—The American Staffing Association and Retail Industry Leaders Association said March 25 they are partnering to help grocery stores, pharmacies and other essential businesses fill vital staff openings. ASA will make available to RILA members an online directory of staffing agencies.
"ASA is proud to work together with RILA as part of the staffing industry's commitment to ensuring that America has access to a skilled flexible workforce to support the uninterrupted flow of essential goods and services during this unprecedented time of challenge to our nation and our world," ASA CEO Richard Wahlquist said.
—The Specialty Graphic Imaging Association and its subsidiary, NAPCO Media, are partnering with Printing Industries of America to launch a dedicated COVID-19 resource channel. The March 31 announcement said content will be updated daily. Subject areas are state, local and national legislation, safety, economic impacts on the printing industry and human resources guidance.
—ASIS International and the Security Industry Association announced March 24 they will work together on advocacy and communications efforts to aid members struggling during the COVID-19 pandemic. Both groups will share staff resources and pursue further collaborations with other associations.
