CEO DATELINE - New group advocates for all new vehicles to be electric by 2030

A new organization has formed to push for policies that will promote the use of zero-emission vehicles.

The Zero Emission Transportation Association will advocate for "national policies that will enable 100% electric vehicle sales throughout the light-, medium- and heavy-duty sectors by 2030." Founding members include electric vehicle manufacturer Tesla, ride-sharing company Uber and several electric utilities.
ZETA refers to itself as an industry coalition that is among the first of its kind "calling for an accelerated transition to electric vehicles (EVs), which will create hundreds of thousands of new jobs, secure American global EV manufacturing leadership, dramatically improve public health and significantly reduce carbon pollution."
"For the first time in a generation, transportation is the leading emitter of U.S. carbon emissions," ZETA Executive Director Joe Britton said. "By embracing EVs, federal policymakers can help drive innovation, create hundreds of thousands of new jobs and improve air quality and public health."
The organization has also created the ZETA Education Fund, which will focus on educating the public about electric vehicles.
