The Retail Industry Leaders Association is moving its offices from Arlington, Va., to Washington, D.C.'s Capitol Riverfront neighborhood.
RILA currently is located at 1700 North Moore St. in Arlington. The association will relocate to an office development at 99 M Street SE in the near future, according to a news release from property owner Skanska. A date for the move was not provided.
"As an advocate for the nation's largest and most innovative retail companies, we wanted a location that would give us much easier access to Capitol Hill and the ability to host our members in a vibrant, amenity-rich neighborhood," RILA President Sandy Kennedy said. "At 99M we can create an open and collaborative environment that will enable our best work."
RILA will occupy 12,870 square feet of office space on the seventh floor of the building, according to Skanska. The D.C. offices of Credit Union National Association will be among the group's new neighbors.
RILA's new home is located near Nationals Park and is a short walk from Navy Yard-Ballpark Metro Station. The Capitol Riverfront neighborhood has experienced a rush of business development in recent years, with the National Association of Broadcasters announcing in 2016 it would build a new headquarters there. http://bit.ly/2Osivua
