ASAE CEO John Graham—a former Eagle Scout and Boys Scouts of America executive—will join an exclusive club May 19 when he receives the Distinguished Eagle Scout Award, a recognition granted by the National Eagle Scout Association. Past recipients include former President Gerald Ford and astronaut Neil Armstrong.
The National Capital Area Council of the Boys Scouts of America will present the award, along with its Citizen of the Year honor, to Graham at a fundraising dinner at the JW Marriott hotel in Washington, D.C.
Other association executives to receive the DESA include former Sen. Gordon Smith, CEO of the National Association of Broadcasters (in 1999), Tom Donohue, CEO of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce (in 2004) and Woody Sutton, CEO of the Equipment Leasing and Finance Association (in 2013).
Tom Kuhn, CEO of the Edison Electric Institute, is among event co-chairs. Individual tickets are available for $500. Higher levels of support start with table sponsorships at $5,000. Further information is available from event coordinator Clinton Hammett at Clinton.Hammett@Scouting.org or 301-214-9113.
