Mitch Bainwol goes from representing 12 automakers to just one. He steps down from the Alliance of Automobile Manufacturers this week to head up government relations for Ford Motor Co.

Tom Sleight will retire later this year after a total of 25 years with the U.S. Grains Council. Slight had left USGC in 1999, but returned in 2010 and was named CEO two years later.

Dental school dean Karen West becomes the next CEO of the American Dental Education Association July 1, succeeding Richard Valachovic, who is retiring after 22 years.

Bill Long was promoted to CEO of the Motor & Equipment Manufacturers Association. He was president and COO of the Automotive Aftermarket Suppliers Association, MEMA's light vehicle division, and EVP of government affairs for MEMA.

Joel Albizo becomes CEO of the Chicago-based American Planning Association April 8. He has been CEO of the Council of Landscape Architectural Registration Boards since 2007.

Two associations named interim chief execs, while another interim CEO was named to the job on a permanent basis. Joy Rush Heath was named to the top job at the International Legal Technology Association after leading the group as interim since October. Amy Zirkle will fill the interim role at the Electronic Transactions Association. Carol Keeling will be interim CEO at the National Association of Landscape Professionals.
