O’Brien to step down at inland marine insurance group
The $1.2M-revenue Inland Marine Underwriters Association announced President and CEO Kevin O’Brien will step down from his role Jan. 31, 2025, after 14 years at the helm.
“When I assumed this role, I set out with two primary goals: to establish IMUA as the standard for professional development within the industry and to strengthen the organization’s financial foundation. I’m proud of what we’ve accomplished. Membership is at an all-time high, including adding five national brokers, and our financial position is stronger than ever,” O’Brien said in a statement.

Riley to take the reins at public television group
America’s Public Television Stations ($4.4M-revenue) announced Kate Riley will take over as president and CEO, effective Oct. 1. She will succeed Patrick Butler, who is retiring after leading for nearly 14 years.
“Kate Riley is the ideal candidate to lead America’s Public Television Stations into the future,” said APTS Board Chair Franz Joachim. “She has the intelligence, the experience and the vision we need to succeed in an increasingly challenging and complex media environment, and her passion for public service will inspire us every day.”
Riley joined APTS (then named the Association of Public Television Stations) in 2010 as director of government relations and is currently the group’s vice president of government and public affairs. Previously, she was legislative director for U.S. Rep. Loretta Sanchez (D-Calif.).
She has a bachelor’s degree in political science, Spanish and writing intensive English from Marquette University.
Staff Departures
Federation of American Hospitals—Ryann Hill is no longer vice president of federal affairs for $17M-revenue FAH. She has founded Indigo Hill Strategies, a government affairs and policy firm.
Television Bureau of Advertising—Abby Auerbach will retire as executive vice president and chief communications officer at $9M-revenue TVB at year’s end. She joined the organization in 2000 as executive vice president before adding the title of chief communications officer in 2010. Previously, she was senior partner, director local TV and radio, U.S. at Ogilvy, where she spent 17 years.
U.S. Tire Manufacturers Association—Sarah Amick has left her position as senior vice president and senior counsel at the $8M-revenue U.S. Tire Manufacturers Association, where she spent 15 years. She has joined law firm Wiley Rein as special counsel in the firm’s environment and product regulation group.

American Clean Power Association—$51M-revenue ACPA announced Brent Panzenhagen has been named chief financial officer and senior vice president of finance. Panzenhagen joins the group from the National Association of Broadcasters, where he was vice president of finance and controller. Previously, he spent eight years at accounting firm KPMG US, most recently as a senior manager.
American Health Information Management Association—$36M-revenue AHIMA announced Leslie Patterson Moore has joined as general counsel. She spent the past 10 years at the American College of Emergency Physicians, where she was general counsel and chief legal officer. Previously, she was general counsel of Mothers Against Drunk Driving for four years.
Household & Commercial Products Association—Allie Hayes has been promoted to senior vice president for board administration and chief of staff to the president and CEO. She will also continue in her role of senior vice president of communications. Hayes joined $8M-revenue HCPA in 2019 as manager of communications and marketing.
Pharmaceutical Research and Manufacturers of America—Katie Fitzwilliam has joined $568M-revenue PhRMA as deputy vice president of public affairs. She spent the past 10 years at advertising company Targeted Victory, most recently as vice president of products.
