The Information Technology Industry Council announced Jan. 24 that Jason Oxman—current CEO of the Electronic Transactions Association—would become the group's next top executive at the end of February.
Oxman has been CEO of ETA since 2012. Previously, he was senior vice president of industry affairs at the Consumer Technology Association.
"As a tech policy and legal expert with decades of experience, Jason Oxman is no stranger to the innovation community. His collaborative and pragmatic leadership at ETA, the Electronic Transactions Association, has shaped the global financial technology industry and led to its transformative growth," said Brian Huseman, vice president of public policy at Amazon and chair of ITI's CEO search committee, in a Jan. 24 statement.
Oxman succeeds Dean Garfield, who has been CEO of ITI since 2009. Garfield announced his pending departure in November. Netflix confirmed then that Garfield would become the company's new head of global public policy.
ITI reported revenue of $14 million in its most recent tax filing. ITI has about 70 members, including some of the biggest names in the tech sector, including Apple, Amazon, IBM and Microsoft. ETA, representing about 500 companies, reported revenue of $7.2 million in 2016.
Heidrick & Struggles assisted ITI in the CEO search.
