Bode to leave organization fighting to preserve tax break for wind power industry, says she will return to private practice Denise Bode will step down as CEO of the American Wind Energy Association Jan. 1, leaving a group that has spent the past year struggling to convince federal lawmakers to extend tax breaks for wind farms.

Longtime employee to lead lung association

The $49M-revenue American Lung Association has named Harold Wimmer president and CEO, effective Feb. 1. He will replace Charles Connor, who retired in June. Wimmer has been an ALA employee for 34 years. He most recently was CEO of ALA of the Upper Midwest, and previously held the same position at the Illinois and Iowa chapters of the organization. He also led the creation of the ALA Lung Helpline, a national, toll-free phone service.
