Auto Alliance Initiates CEO Search

The Alliance of Automobile Manufacturers, Inc., a trade association composed of nine car and light truck manufacturers, has opened a search this month for a new CEO. Current CEO Fred Webber has managed the $35 million association, with 44 staff, since 2004. Webber, 68, retired from the American Chemistry Council in 2002.

CEO Salaries and Bonuses Climb

More chief executives of associations are receiving hefty pay raises and bonuses year over year, along with increases in base salary, according to the 2006 National Compensation Study, compiled by American Research Company. The average CEO surveyed took home $14,847 in bonuses in 2006, or 13 percent of their average base salary. And 86 percent received increases in pay, up from 82 percent in 2005.
