Financial Services Roundtable, Generic Pharmaceutical Association choose lobbyists who bring years of experience with them. Two Washington, D.C.-based associations recently recruited government staffers who both groups hope will bring with them the experience to lobby successfully for their industries. The $20 million-revenue Financial Services Roundtable has hired Francis Creighton as head of government affairs. At the same time, $10 million-revenue Generic Pharmaceutical Association has hired Jonathan Marks as vice president, international affairs.

NSBA: Small businesses hit with rising health care costs A new survey by the National Small Business Association has found that 91 percent of respondents reported increases in their health plans at their most recent health insurance renewal. The survey of 780 small business owners found that of those reporting a spike in health care costs, one in four were hit with increases exceeding 20 percent.
