Salary Update: Roger Goodell, National Football League

The National Football League, a 501(c)(6) tax-exempt organization, reported paying its chief executive Roger Goodell more than $29 million in 2011. The NFL, which considers itself a trade group, has a history of paying commissioner Goodell in the eight- to nine-figure range, but his 2011 salary represents a 150 percent increase from his previous highest paycheck, driven in large part by a $22.3 million bonus.
